Politician

Politician

Naylor was introduced to politics at a very young age, and remained actively involved in the political arena his entire life.  He was actually a candidate for political office more than once, and he was a political force in Ohio politics for many years.  He knew many of the party leaders quite well and developed more than a passing friendship with some of them, including Warren Harding, with whom he he campaigned.

Following his 1910 defeat for state senator, Naylor mailed to those patients who owed on their accounts a charming poem titled “A Plea and a Promise.” In it, he promised to leave the political arena, admitted his dire financial situation and, in a most pleasant manner, asked them all to pay.
